Graycor Construction Company completed the live environment, interior renovation of the six screen AMC Theatre located in Chicago Ridge Mall. The project was completed in three phases, allowing the theatre to remain open to the public throughout construction. All six auditoriums were revamped, along with concession stands, washrooms and common areas.
Much more than cosmetic changes, Graycor transformed the traditional movie house into an ultramodern, state of the art theatre. Calling on years of experience building and renovating theatres for AMC and other national entertainment companies, Graycor followed an aggressive schedule, carefully coordinating demolition, construction, MEP changes and FFE installation within the operating theatre to bring the new amenities to the public as soon as possible. At the completion of the first phase of construction, the newly added MacGuffin’s Bar and Lounge debuted, as well as the opening of the first two auditoriums to feature the latest in projection and sound technology, luxury recliner seating with electric controls and the expanded food and drink options available from the redesigned concession stands.
Just prior to the AMC Theatre renovation, Graycor completed other major projects within Chicago Ridge Mall. Graycor renovated the mall’s entrances – ensuring the public’s safety and convenience throughout the duration of the project. Also, Graycor constructed the Aldi Grocery Store, Aldi’s first in-mall store in the U.S.
