Project Scope

Bass Pro Shops, America’s most popular outdoor store, contracted with Graycor for the restoration of its 135,000-square-foot anchor retail location in Opry Mills Shopping Center, Nashville, Tennessee. Authorities and mall owners closed the mall after torrential storms and flooding of the Cumberland River devastated the city.

After Bass Pro Shops secured a permit to begin repairs, Graycor quickly mobilized to Nashville the subcontractor teams and resources from a nearby project recently completed for Volkswagen in Chattanooga to initiate the project.

“Graycor has successfully and efficiently managed the construction of a number of new retail locations for Bass (Pro Shops),” said Steve Callendar, project manager, Bass Pro Shops. Once plans were finalized to reopen the Nashville store, we were confident they’d be the best partner for the job, delivering quality work in a timely fashion to help us reopen as quickly as possible.” Graycor had the Nashville store rehabilitated and ready to turn over to the retailer in just two short months after the area experienced significant flood and storm damage.

Bass Pro Shops retail stores are award-winning and rated top tourist destinations for their outstanding concepts and designs, which combines museum, art gallery, aquarium, outdoor education, conservation, and entertainment elements unique to the region so that no two stores are alike. Other Bass Pro Shops built by Graycor include locations in Bolingbrook, Illinois; Cary, North Carolina; East Peoria, Illinois; Portage, Indiana; and Spanish Fort, Alabama.
