Blast furnace baghouse

Blast Furnace Baghouse Transport and Installation
Client:
ArcelorMittal Dofasco
Project scope:

Longtime Graycor client and the world’s largest global steel company, ArcelorMittal recently called on Graycor International of Canada to dismantle a blast furnace baghouse at its plant in Weirton, WV, and then transport and reinstall the baghouse at its plant in Hamilton, Ontario. The project — a joint effort between Graycor International, Graycor Industrial, and J.S. Alberici’s Hamilton, Ontario, office, — began in May 2008 and will be completed in November 2008.

The project required a great deal of planning and coordination between all of the partners to dismantle and ship the baghouse internationally, and reassemble it at the Canadian plant without disrupting production at either plant.

For decades, ArcelorMittal and its predecessors (Inland Steel, Ispat Inland, LTV Steel and Bethlehem Steel) have relied on Graycor for construction services throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.
