Project Scope
On a fast-track schedule, Graycor completed construction of Canadian National (CN) Railway Company’s new administrative offices in south suburban Homewood, Ill. The 55,000-square-foot building now consolidates the railway’s Midwest and Gulf Division offices.
Work included completion of core-and-shell and interior construction in a seven-month timeframe. Graycor also performed bunkering of the CN’s former office building. The single-story building was recently demolished with a portion remaining for the railway’s communications center, a critical facility that operates around the clock. Project in-cluded office build-outs, conference rooms, food service areas fitness facility, landscaping and exterior lighting.
Palatine, Ill.-based Harris Architects designed the core and shell; Chicago-based Partners by Design created the interiors.
