Project Scope

Hilton Worldwide called on Graycor Construction Company to complete renovations of 413 guestrooms and 72 alcove suites at their Miami Airport hotel.

Working closely with hotel management to minimize impact on guests, Graycor coordinated the sequence of demolition and renovation of the guestrooms and restrooms throughout the building. Newly completed hall renovations, elevator lobbies and other areas were carefully protected throughout construction. To relieve design pressures on the project Graycor was called on to assume responsibility for permit expediting and coordinating after hours inspections with the City of Miami building department.

Guestroom renovation included removal and replacement of all carpet, pad, wall treatment, and popcorn ceilings. Graycor liquidated all existing FF&E and inventoried the televisions, mattresses and safes for future use. New doors, hardware, wall texture and other items were provided and installed by Graycor along with owner furnished items such as carpet, mirrors and other fixtures. Fifteen of the guestroom were designed and bid while 􀀁construction was ongoing.

Several restrooms included tub to shower conversions. Additionally, Graycor lead the redesign work of the restroom walls in all restrooms to ensure compliance with code and fire ratings.
