Montgomery Place — Hyde Park
Client:
Montgomery Place
Architect/Engineer:
Dorsky Hodgson & Partners Inc.
Project scope:
Montgomery Place, a nonprofit continuing–care provider, recently chose Graycor Construction to build a two–story addition of approximately 4,500 square feet to their existing senior living facility located in Chicago′s historic Hyde Park neighborhood. The addition will house a wellness center with a therapeutic swimming pool and spa; a rehabilitation unit; and a green–roof garden to be viewed from the facility′s third–floor great room. The community project also includes a first–floor conservatory for pre–dining waiting, along with a new space for handicap equipment and motorized–cart storage. Current administrative office space on the first floor will be converted to a café/library that will be adjacent to the renovated entrance lobby. Other areas within the existing footprint of the underground parking garage will be renovated to accommodate a multipurpose educational center for resident programs and guest lecturers, as well as pastoral care offices. Graycor will also convert the third floor from skilled nursing beds to an assisted living pavilion and undertake a complete renovation of the second floor to create a 40–bed skilled nursing facility, which will house 26 long–term–care nursing beds and 14 Medicare–certified rehabilitation nursing beds.
