Project Scope

Graycor Construction built a ground-up indoor skydiving facility in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago. The new 6,000-square-foot, two-story building and precast wind tower are supported by pipe piles driven approximately 90 feet below grade, as well as a deep basement surrounded by a steel earth retention system. The wind turbines, located on top of the precast tower, push air down into a 30-foot deep basement. Through detailed engineering, the wind is directed back up to a radius opening, which allows the final skydiving experience.
