Graycor Industrial′s participation as the general contractor in completion of the United States′ first 20/20 steel production facility at U.S. Steel's Gary Works plant in Gary, Indiana was a pioneering achievement in many respects. Ultra–formable 20/20 steel is prized by automakers for its low–nitrogen and low–carbon composition (combining 20 parts per million of nitrogen and 20 parts per million of carbon). Working closely with both Kawasaki Steel and Kvaerner, Graycor Industrial installed electrical and piping systems, structural steel and critical plant equipment.
