The Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, the oldest science museum of its kind, selected Graycor Construction to renovate 5,500 square feet for a new timepiece exhibit. The project houses a permanent exhibit of 400 vintage timepieces acquired from the Seth Atwood Collection. The area formerly held the Museum Store and Gift Shop that is now located in the Great Hall.
Graycor&#prime;s work included minor demolition; installation of steel beams above the ceiling to support a tower clock exhibit; fabrication and installation of display cases; application of polyethylene to display wall steel framing; painting; flooring; HVAC and sprinkler modifications; and major electrical work.
