Project Scope

This 54,000-square-foot addition and renovation included the interior demolition of the existing two-story building, plus the addition of three floors. The building′s exterior facade is a combination limestone and glass window wall construction. In addition, the building is internally designed with sophisticated temperature, humidity and electrical controls.

Challenges on this project included maintaining strict noise and vibration controls during construction due to ongoing research in adjacent buildings, tight site constraints due to the building′s location on a busy street within the university cam-pus and coordination and sequencing of construction activities to minimize impacts on the university’s operations.
