Sam Potter, President, Graycor Industrial Constructors www.graycor.com
Working within challenging industrial environments presents unique safety demands. Each project has unique issues, considerations and concerns. At Graycor Industrial Constructors, we take pride in our commitment and approach to safety. Our Zero Incidents goal is the challenge every one of us aims to achieve every time we set foot on-site; and for every client project, the most important outcome is a safe project.
As a family-owned company, safety is a core value at Graycor Industrial. We are committed to keeping our project personnel, team members, clients, subcontractors, the public and the environment safe when providing our construction services. We have always maintained a culture that promotes a safe work environment and always will.
A good safety record reflects a company’s values, leadership and culture. Safety does not occur by chance but is the result of planning, communication and choices of all those who are directly and indirectly involved in each project. At Graycor Industrial, employees at all levels work diligently to execute projects while maintaining safe and healthy working environments. Our leadership teams set safety expectations, engage employees in a meaningful way, utilize measurement systems, and focus on emerging technology and continuous improvement all in ongoing efforts to improve safety performance. Our people understand the impact safe choices have on our team members, their families and the communities in which we live and work.
We are proud to say that our safety programs and results are being recognized by our clients, our peers and the industry overall. We recently received the Construction Users Roundtable (CURT) highest recognition in safety—the Construction Industry Safety Excellence (CISE) Award, and in 2018 we were named “One of America’s Safest Companies” by EHS Today.
In the end, our goal is to have Zero Incidents. Graycor Industrial’s commitment to working safely continues to result in safe project outcomes. Safety is NOT an initiative, but a commitment each of us takes personally. Our teams stand together in the commitment to continuously improve our safety culture and ensure each worker returns home safe every day. I am extremely proud of our project teams and craft workers for embracing Graycor’s values, safety culture and training by making safe choices and practicing safe work habits on our job sites every single day.
