Graycor was selected by Jacobs and FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies to deliver multi-phased steel fabrication, erection, and concrete placement for the company’s $2 billion cell culture expansion in Holly Springs, NC—part of Project Aura, which will establish the largest cell culture CDMO facility in North America. The campus significantly expands large-scale biologics manufacturing, featuring eight 20,000L bioreactors with capacity for 24 additional units, along with automated fill-finish, assembly, packaging, and labeling operations.
Across multiple phases and buildings—including DSM1, CUB, HB, DSM3, and DSM4—Graycor managed subcontractors and self-performed critical scopes. Phase I alone included 12,000 cubic yards of concrete, 10,000 tons of structural steel, and 850,000 square feet of metal decking. For its performance, the project received ABC Carolinas Excellence in Construction Eagle Awards for both Steel and Concrete.
