Graycor Industrial Constructors Inc. (Graycor Industrial), the industrial construction subsidiary of North American contractor Graycor, has formed a regional office in Detroit to better serve industrial clients in the metals, power and process markets within the Detroit metropolitan area, including Lower Michigan. The office and equipment yard are located in Oak Park, Michigan, located approximately 15 miles north of Detroit.

The union-affiliated company offers self-perform and subcontracted preconstruction and construction services to new industrial clients, as well as already established owners such as AK Steel, CMS Energy, Consumers Energy, Domtar Corp., Flint Hills Resources and U.S. Steel.

“Our Detroit office enables us to quickly respond to our clients’ maintenance and construction needs while giving us access to local resources and talent,” says Dan Kilgore, vice president and general manager, Graycor Industrial. Nick Schallmo, construction manager for Graycor Industrial, oversees the office which currently employs 10 construction supervisors and managers in addition to 20 to 50 craftspeople, depending on project workload.

“We look forward to providing construction users in Michigan with the highest level of construction services focused on safety, quality and project management,” says Kilgore.

Based in the Chicago western suburb of Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois, Graycor Industrial’s offices include a Northwest Indiana operations center and fabrication facility located in Portage, Indiana, as well as an office in Pittsburgh.
