PHOENIX, ARIZONA, November 8, 2021 – Riding an industrial boom, Graycor Construction Company has expanded and promoted members of its Southwest Division office, assembling a team of industry veterans to pursue historic construction opportunities, strengthen long-term growth and support labor and supply chain efficiencies across the region.

Tim Hanifin, who in October was promoted to President of Graycor Construction Company, will also provide executive oversight and leadership for the Southwest Division. Former Project Executive Rusty Martin has been promoted to Operations Manager. Former Senior Project Manager Geovanni Villalta has promoted to Construction Manager.

“This is an exciting evolution for our Southwest Division, which sits within one of the most desirable and opportunity-rich commercial real estate markets in the nation,” said Hanifin.

“I look forward to working with this talented Graycor team to continue supporting our clients’ needs and help drive the growth of our people and our projects – something the Southwest organization has excelled at, even while facing historic industrial demand and pandemic-induced labor and supply chain disruptions.”

As of the end of Q3 2021, metro Phoenix alone had more than 16 million square feet of industrial space and almost 2 million square feet of office space under construction. The industrial vacancy rate sits at less than 7 percent, with office vacancy holding steady at approximately 21 percent.

Hanifin started his career with Graycor as an intern in 1995. Over 25 years he has supported and helped direct the long-term growth of the company’s people and projects, including the expansion of Graycor’s shopping center, retail and entertainment client base and, more recently, its national distribution center portfolio with top owners and in top markets across the U.S. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Northwestern University, is a LEED AP, a member of the Structural Engineers Association of Illinois and a graduate of Graycor’s Leader of Leaders development program.

Since joining Graycor in 2017, Martin – also a 25-year industry veteran – has directed major projects throughout the region. As Operations Manager, he will provide oversight for all Graycor project operations in the Southwest, ensuring consistency and continuous improvement. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from Brigham Young University, has served as a member of Graycor’s Continuous Improvement Steering Committee, and is a graduate of the company’s Leader of Others development program.

As Construction Manager, Villalta, with over 20 years of industry experience, will provide oversight for multiple project teams and will develop and manage client relationships in several markets, with a primary focus on industrial projects. Villalta joined Graycor in 2011, building loyal clientele and completing major, award-winning projects. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology from Rochester Institute of Technology, serves as a member of Graycor’s Mentoring Committee and is a graduate of the company’s Leader of Others development program.

This year, Graycor. Inc. celebrates its 100th anniversary. A third-generation, family-owned and operated company, it has 10 offices nationwide, more than 50,000 projects in its portfolio and has performed more than one million man-hours with zero recordable injuries over the course of its time in business.
