During 2017, Graycor Industrial achieved a year of safety success on its projects with a majority of man-hours greatly contributing to the company’s recent milestone of self-performing one million man-hours with zero recordable injuries. In recognition of its outstanding safety record throughout 2017, Graycor Industrial is the proud recipient of numerous safety awards thus far this year:

On May 14, The Association of Union Constructors (TAUC) recognized Graycor’s continued commitment to worksite safety and health with the 2017 Thomas J. Reynolds Certificate of Achievement for achieving a OSHA’s Days Away, Restricted, and Transfer (DART) Rate 25 percent below the Bureau of Labor Statistics industry average. Also in May, the Northwest Indiana Business RoundTable (NWIBRT) presented Graycor with the Contractor Safety Achievement Award at the Construction Advancement Foundation (CAF) awards banquet held in Merrillville, Indiana.

Additional safety awards Graycor has received this year include:

North Dakota Safety Council:
– Safety Management Excellence Award – this award is given to member companies with an Experience Modification Rate (EMR) of 0.9 or lower, and whose leadership displays exemplary commitment to safety and supports key safety decisions, creating a caring company culture.

– Workplace Safety Merit Award – the award is given to member companies showing an EMR below 1 for the year 2017.

Mechanical Contractors Association of Chicago – Safe Workplace Award – given for achieving 200,000 to 500,000 safe work hours in 2017.
Northern Indiana Public Service Co. – Zero Injury Award – NIPSCO presented its Zero Injury Award to Graycor as a member of the Cooperative Contractor Safety Committee (CCSC) for performing recordable-free work on NIPSCO’s sites at the Michigan City and Schahfer generating stations in 2017.
