Bosch’s Lincolnton Expansion included the construction of a new 330,000 SF greenfield manufacturing facility, expanding Bosch’s existing Lincolnton manufacturing campus. The project features 310,000 SF of manufacturing and utility space and 20,000 SF of administrative space with offices, laboratories, training, and support areas.
The primary manufacturing facility (Lct 102) includes a rooftop technical floor housing electrical equipment. Supporting infrastructure consists of a Central Utility Building (Lct 105), recycle shed (Lct 108), fire tank and pump house with foam system, and a utility pipe rack connecting the CUB to the main facility. The expansion also included roads, underground utilities, fencing, and a 350-stall employee and visitor parking lot designed to accommodate future campus growth.
The project team successfully navigated several execution challenges while maintaining schedule commitments. Early excavation uncovered an unexpected rock pocket requiring blasting, while more than 80 days of winter rain delayed concrete operations. To maintain progress, the team implemented cement stabilization to reinforce the building pad and continue slab placement. Later, electrical gear production delays were mitigated through direct coordination with the manufacturer and bi-weekly planning meetings, keeping equipment installation aligned with key project milestones.
