Project Scope

Graycor was the general contractor for the 60,000-square-foot, three-level, indoor-outdoor RH Gallery at Stanford Shopping Center. Conceptualized as a transparent, multilevel contemporary structure, the Gallery’s exterior features a parchment-cream Venetian plaster with an expanse of glass-and-steel French doors that open to lush garden courtyards and terraces. Inside, the Gallery features 13’ ceilings, a monumental skylight, a double floating staircase and cascading water walls. Amenities offered include a rooftop restaurant, wine bar and park, as well as an interior design studio.

This RH building was upgraded from previous galleries using higher-end materials including marble flooring in the café, marble parapet caps, Taj Mahal stone and white oak cabinetry throughout.

VDC and BIM were utilized as an added quality assurance tool to maintain RH’s design commitment to symmetry for MEPFP and A/V coordination. The model was also utilized to facilitate reworking of the HVAC system to allow for increased ceiling heights in key galleries.
