Project Scope

Under a joint venture partnership between Sargent & Lundy and Graycor, the GSL team engineered and installed selective non-catalytic reduction (SNCR) and rich reagent injection (RRI) systems for four Midwest generation stations (Crawford Units 7 and 8; Joliet Units 6, 7 and 8; Powerton Units 5 and 6; and Will County Units 3 and 4). Work included site work, foundations, installation of engineered equipment, utility piping and tie-ins (plant water and air), plant electrical systems and upgrades, as well as commissioning at each facility.

The scope of project included installation of the following components fuel tech SNCR and RRI systems (30 pieces at Powerton alone), more than 60,000 feet of piping and tubing used throughout all stations, site work and foundations, electrical systems including system commissioning at each facility, concrete – installed two tank foundations, double mat rebar, containment slab and walls, truck unloading pad (reinforced, totaling 800 CY) and stainless-steel tanks (350,000 gallons each).
