Project Scope

Graycor completed the repurposing of the former Graham Building at BP’s Whiting, Indiana refinery to the new William M. Burton Center for Excellence. Building more than upgraded office space, this project brought enhancements to the surrounding community as well. The building complements the new development and improvements in downtown Whiting.

The 65,000-square-foot renovation/expansion converted an existing warehouse into a modern, state-of-the-art office building for 500 employees. The systems were upgraded to allow for enhanced office capabilities, enabling BP to meet its goal of being the premier refinery in North America.
The project involved bringing a new 16-inch water main service 150-feet from the street through existing utilities and underground obstructions all in contaminated material.
