Project Scope

Graycor provided design-build services for a new fully automated 307,719-square-foot small package delivery and sorting facility which sits on sits on approximately 48.7 acres. The facility handles out-bound and in-bound critical, time-sensitive packages that are transported to and from the sort facility via over-the-road semi-trailer and double trailer trucks. Other operational functions include temporary package holding, vehicle maintenance, indoor-overnight vehicle storage and office functions.

The project included three new concrete tilt buildings with hybrid wood roof systems. The main distribution facility is 307,719 square feet and has 14,478 square feet of Class A Office. The vehicle maintenance facility is 5,180 square feet and the Gateway Building is 3,135 square feet.

The automated sorting facility services up to 134 FedEx Ground vans and 111 FedEx Home Delivery vans. Since the Vehicles enter the building to unload to the automated sorting conveyor lines, the project included critical C02/NO2 monitoring and evacuation systems that regulate the accumulation of toxic gases and will automatically evacuate those gases as required to constantly maintain a safe work environment.
