Project Scope
Graycor completed a new sorting and distribution facility for FedEx Ground, a leading North American provider of delivery services in the U.S. and Canada.
This newly-constructed, 306,000 square-foot distribution facility contains a 5,000 square-foot Vehicle Maintenance Building and a 3,000 square-foot Security Building on a 57-acre site. The project included significant earthwork and grading operations resulting in 18 acres of paving and eight acres of bio retention basins. The main buildings are pre-engineered metal buildings with 6-inch Slab on Grade and approximately 15,000 square-foot of office space. A 25,000-gallon, fiberglass, underground reclamation water tank was installed to collect and re-use roof run-off for interior truck washing.
Additionally, widening of a state highway along the main entrance, installation of a new traffic signal intersection, and multiple sinkhole-karst injections throughout the site were part of an aggressive construction schedule.
The new, state-of-the-art facility will allow FedEx Ground to continue to meet and exceed customer demands in the region. The site provides ease of access to major highways, proximity to customers’ distribution centers.
